Washington, D.C. – A year ago MoreMarrowDonors.org was successful in challenging the National Organ Transplant Act and paving the way for research into how incentives can dramatically decrease the number of Americans that suffer and die while waiting for a marrow transplant. As we continue to work with researchers to craft a study, other proponents of the status quo have lobbied the Department of Health and Human Services to re-regulate bone marrow transplants and effectively overturn the court’s decision. The Department of HHS is accepting public comment through Dec. 2 and you can give your opinion HERE. Our hope is that the government will not adopt the proposed rule. You can read more about this recent action and the Wall Street Journal’s opinion HERE.
